I'm a sucker for both westerns and passing transmasculine characters, so this book was right up my alley. Overall very well written. Solid backdrop detailing, with clearly a good amount of research behind it. The two characters were sweet and naive when it came to relationships, operating on the emotional level of teenagers in first love. My only real quibble is that the author seemed to get a bit lost in the midsection of the book. The plot tread water for several chapters before finding a path towards a conclusion. I'd give it a 4.5 stars if possible.
